On Saturday, November 29th, at Palazzo Madre Isabella De Rosis, a journey through contemporary music, featuring virtuosity and world premieres.

The 20th edition of the historic “La Città della Musica” festival hosts an event of national importance: the SIMC Festival 2025 – 2nd semester “La Musica in Movimento”.2 On Saturday, November 29, 2025, at 7:00 pm, with free admission, the evocative Palazzo Madre Isabella De Rosis in the historic center of Rossano will be the venue for concert no. 377 of the festival.

The event is a collaboration with SIMC (Italian Society of Contemporary Music), bringing one of its prestigious musical events to Calabria. The star of the evening will be Maestro Josè Daniel Cirigliano, considered by Italian critics to be the greatest clarinet performer of contemporary music.

The Artist

A concert performer, teacher, and researcher, Cirigliano is known for experimenting with the extended techniques of the clarinet and its instrumental “family.” Trained under the guidance of Maestro Michele Pepe and perfected with Maestro Ciro Scarponi, he has made contemporary music his artistic medium. Described by specialized magazines such as Musica and Amadeus as one of the finest contemporary clarinetists, Cirigliano will present a repertoire that ranges from extreme virtuosity to the use of multiphonics, characteristics clearly present in his latest recording project, CLARILOQUI (Da Vinci Classic, 2022). Renowned composers have written highly impactful pieces for him, dedicated to his remarkable interpretive vision.
